Krakow: The Baron’s Townhouse

Erasmus = someone deserves a medal for thinking that one up. Getting a grant from the EU to study in a country that is cheaper than your own for four months can’t be bad, especially when you get to live in a huge eastern european tenement which works out cheaper than a box room in Stoneybatter. Yeah!

The snow is melting, and various parts of the streets are taped off while men in climbing gear hack away at the icicles and get rid of  snow on roofs. Rumour has it that the average pole spends 4.3 hours a day standing on the pavement, looking at big bits of ice and snow falling four storeys. Our roof was cleared today:

And, everyone is up for a party which is nice. Gives us an opportunity to drink too much cheap vodka, make inappropriate  conversation, and generally show up the Irish a bit.

Tomorrow morning will spent be trying to barter in Polish at flea markets in the hip ‘n’ happening Jewish District. Wahey!
