Review: ATP curated by My Bloody Valentine

There’s more crossover between shoegaze and children’s entertainment than you think.

Butlins = swimming pool, slides, aracade games that let you shoot dinosaurs while listening to Th’ Faith Healers, proper beds, decent beer, indoors.
My Bloody Valentine and friends = still plugging away after twenty-odd years, still cool as fuck, still bloody loud. Liable to make you dreamy and smile. Realiably great. Shouldn’t we have moved on by now?

Three consecutive nights of  “You Made Me Realise” justified the trip to Minehead in itself. Why do festivals in any other way?

Kevin Shields refused to leave Butlins, was forced to work.
